This is what we have made of our new home. 
Our lovely fern was $5 at the local outdoor market/swap meet.

This weekend we took the bus (for $1 each!) to our nearest beach that didn’t require a hike. Whittington Beach Park is about 15 miles away with only one scheduled bus stop in between (the buses will let you off by request).
We stopped off for lunch on the way and walked the remaining 2 miles.
